A
Note from Wendy Herschman, executive director
The
Red Shoes was born of a dream, an improbable, impractical vision to create
a space where women could gather to share their hopes, spiritual journeys
and personal challenges. Today, that dream nourishes women and helps
sustain our community. While presenting
programs that celebrate spiritual diversity and encourage the
creative path of the individual,
perhaps The Red Shoes’ most important mission is promoting the
recognition of “oneness,” the sacred unity of life.
Looking
through our brochure, you will notice many doorways into The Red Shoes. You
may find the path to your true self through yoga, creative writing or collage. We have a
fantastic retreat weekend planned
to study The Southern Belle,
an archetype who shows up in life when we least expect her. We are offering
an outstanding Spirituality Series
and a unique Spiritual Spa for
new and expectant mothers. Choose a program Celebrating Women that taps into your current stage of life
and inquiry.
Our
Summer Film Series boasts
three amazing features: we are bringing back One,The Movie and showing a brand new
documentary, Forgiveness.
With our exceptional facilitators, these evenings will stimulate profound
discussion. We hope you will put all three dates on your calendar.
As
the days become hotter, remember to plan the time you need to refresh your
spirit. Take advantage of our Summer
Fun activities, chosen to help you mix recreation, personal
enrichment, community service and family time in whatever ways you
choose. We’ll be putting on a
Luau at the Sweet Dreams Shelter,
learning to decorate cupcakes at
Whole Foods Market and we can hardly wait for our community sing-along.
As Pete Seeger says, “...people
singing together gives people some kind of holy feeling, you feel like,
Gee, we’re all together.”
We
all have lists of things that we should be doing, but remember to
put YOU on the list and take time to tend your spirit. Be part of the dream. Join our community:
from book studies to blueberry picking, it will be a great summer
