About the event
Are you seeking a supportive space to dedicate time to writing? Whether you're a seasoned poet or exploring poetry for the first time, this circle invites you to express yourself, share inspiration, and connect with others. Through guided prompts, free writing, and meaningful discussion, we’ll explore the art of poetry as a tool for self-discovery and connection. Bring your voice, your story, and your creativity!
Coordinated by Alejandro Darensbourg, a queer woman of color from Southern Louisiana, this workshop combines discussion, guided writing exercises, and an opportunity to share your work. Alejandro’s love for BIPOC fantasy ignited her passion for writing at a young age, and her talent flourished in Baton Rouge’s poetry writing program. A seasoned spoken word performer with national competition experience, she now organizes a monthly Open Mic Night to nurture local talent.
