Labyrinth Walking Meditation - in Memory of Roberta Guillory, Founder of The Red Shoes

Wednesday, July 24th

5 - 6:15 pm
At The Red Shoes

Join us to experience a journey to the center of the soul, the sacred journey our founder, Roberta Guillory, has provided for so many, through the work of The Red Shoes. After a brief introduction, we will walk our beautiful indoor labyrinth, holding Roberta in our hearts as we take each step, opening to inner wisdom and spiritual awakening.

Unlike a maze, there is only one path to the center of a labyrinth and one path out. The ancient energy of the labyrinth often brings up new awareness or discernment. It can be used as a tool to “unwind the mind,” and let go stress. A walk on a labyrinth can be a symbolic "hero's journey," or a journey to your true self. The path is before you: let each step bring you closer to peace.

Silent Nature Retreat (CANCELLED due to weather)

Saturday, July 27th

9 - 11 am

Zachary Community Park

20055 Old Scenic Hwy, Zachary, LA 70791

The great outdoors is offering you time and space to refresh your spirit. Take advantage of the opportunity to simply observe. Join gifted naturalist, Zelena Williams for a silent nature retreat, a walk through the trails of Zachary Community Park. Far too often, we are immersed in ourselves (ego). When we cease focusing on technology and our stories, we can breathe more freely and increase our spatial awareness. There are worlds within worlds around us that we are a part of and, if we take the time, we can perceive them and be in a more open space to receive the messages they have to share with us. As Nature becomes our retreat space, we will gather for a brief safety talk, periods of guided meditation, a silent walk and time for reflection.

Facilitated by Zelena Williams, certified yoga instructor, meditation facilitator, yin yoga/Chinese Medicine student, and Master Naturalist. She has been leading groups in outdoor excursions since 2018 and continues to seek ways to intertwine emotional, physical, and spiritual health with nature.
