Welcome Reception for our new Executive Director

Join us to welcome Racheal Hebert into The Red Shoes community.

Sunday September 29 2-4 pm

Meet our outstanding new Executive Director.

Racheal has a passion for women's issues and even worked with us briefly in 2008, fresh out of college as a Women and Gender Studies major. Racheal went on to found the non-profit, STAR, which she led until 2022. We feel she has come "Full Circle" with us: Racheal is the first person I hired at The Red Shoes, and now as she returns as Executive Director, I know the future of the organization is in caring, capable and compassionate hands. Join us to meet Racheal and visit with friends from our Red Shoes community.

Wendy Herschman, executive director, 2007-2024

Dear Community of The Red Shoes,

I am excited to introduce myself as your new Executive Director of The Red Shoes. It is truly an honor to step into this role and become part of such an inspiring organization that has been a pillar of empowerment, growth, and connection for so many.

Having been deeply influenced by the mission of The Red Shoes, I’ve always admired the transformative work that happens here. Now, as I join this incredible community, I look forward to working alongside you to continue fostering spaces where women can explore, heal, and grow.

As I begin to immerse myself in The Red Shoes and learn about how this incredible organization came to be, I continue to be amazed at what this community has created. I am grateful for the strong foundation Roberta and Wendy have established over the past 25 years, and I look forward to continuing to build upon their vision. And, how wonderful to have a guidebook written by the Founder!

In the coming weeks, I will be taking time to connect with each of you personally, whether through our programs or simply sharing a conversation. I am eager to learn about your experiences, hear your thoughts, and discover how we can continue to create meaningful opportunities together. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any thoughts, suggestions, or simply to say hello.

Thank you for the warm welcome I have already received. I look forward to being part of the journey with you all.

With gratitude,

Racheal Hebert, LCSW-BACS
